September 2012 I finally decided it was time. Maybe it was the stubborn ever increasing muffin top that pushed me over the edge, or the fact that my daughter asked me if I wanted to start shopping at Lane Bryant (not that there’s anything wrong with that) but I realized I just didn’t feel good. And it was NEVER  about a goal weight for me– it’s about how I felt in clothes- it was about wanting to wear clothes and be able to tuck in my shirt.     I have set a goal to work up to a 100 mile bike ride this summer. In order to get there, I started back to the YMCA yesterday and started an Indoor Cycling class this morning.

    I started by putting more green in my diet by eating salads and veggies. From there I had more energy so I bought an excercise bike and have been riding it every morning. This would be great if I won so I could go on to the next step to put more exercises in my routine.

    If the weather is decent, I take a walk around our building outside.

    One thing I’m doing to take charge of my health in 2013 is improving my diet, mostly by cutting out all the sugar. Also I’m taking walks at night.

    I need to take charge of responsible shopping. The pantry should not be stocked with treats and snacks simply because they were on sale w/coupons. My family eats what they find and there is an instinct that leads them to the highest calorie/sugar content item as soon as it comes home. We are going home cooked meals and more fresh fruit and veggies.
    and the food changes need to be paired with healthy exercise. I do need to be more consistent with walking during the winter. Too easy to skip because of weather.

    My goals sound just like yours….like you, Its not about target weight for me but the same things, liking how I feel in clothes, not cringing at the idea of a bathing suit, and just getting my energy back. This past year, my migraines have gotten out of control, which has made me more sedentary and I’ve got that muffin top I never ever had before and I want it gone as I have lately noticed just how bad it makes me feel about myself…. I already drink sooooooo much water and I eat sooo Many vegetables and no meat except chicken, but my weakness is sweets…and cheese. So, I’m practicing portion control with both as I don’t believe in giving up something you love, just cutting back. I’d love to win this….it would help me lose these fee extra pounds and help my hubby too. He saw the giveaway as I was reading it and his eyes lit up when he read it was all being given away to one of your lucky readers and said he would live to use that stuff with me…..     My resolution for 2013 is to start doing yoga and meditation daily! So far I am sticking to it!! :) I work out hard at the gym, but learning to relax and stretch is important too, so this is my new challenge :)

    I am drinking a green smoothie everyday. Adding these additional greens to my daily diet should be very beneficial. Hopefully it will help with my sweets cravings and with my allergies.
